Do you require a signature to deliver pharmaceuticals?

  • Updated

Yes — a signature is required for all pharmaceutical deliveries.

Trellus drivers are required to collect signatures for every pharmaceutical delivery.

For every delivery, our system will automatically send a text to the customer with the drivers ETA. This text also provides a link saying to click if they are receiving a pharmaceutical delivery, where they can sign electronically if they are receiving a pharmaceutical. This allows for contactless delivery.

If no signature was collected electronically, the driver will be prompted to collect a signature directly on the driver’s device before completing the delivery.

The signature is then captured and uploaded for you to view on the delivery details page for that delivery.

Why This Matters

Collecting a signature ensures:

  • Compliance with state pharmacy delivery regulations

  • A verifiable record that the medication was delivered to the correct person

  • Reduced disputes over delivery location or receipt

If a customer cannot provide a signature (e.g., no one is home), the driver will have to fail the delivery and bring it back to your store, which may incur a return delivery fee.
